On Friday, September 19, Park(ing) Day 2015 happened in downtown Houston. This annual event included the Houston/Gulf-Coast Chapter of the Texas American Society of Landscape Architects along with top Landscape Architect firms and Design Studios from the Houston area.
This event is national in scope and is meant to “bring awareness to parks, built environments, urban dwelling and how the public space is viewed in Houston”.
Our own Gayla Plichta and others from Houston/Gulf-Coast set up their “Park” along Travis Street. TBG, Clark Condon and SWA also had their tiny parks. Each park consists of 2-4 regular parking spaces. Each has a theme and was set-up, attended and dismantled all on that Friday.
