Masonry Sand
Masonry Sand is the very same sand used to mix concrete for brick laying. It is a clean, fine-grained sand used to make mortar. Masonry sand is often requested to use as a base under paving stones because it is easier to work with than utility sand. It is also used for ready mix concrete, manufacturing of concrete blocks, grouting and the manufacturing of bituminous concrete.

Sharp / Concrete Sand
Sharp Sand is useful in planting because it promotes drainage. This type of sand is often mixed with concrete for a number of different construction applications. Sharp sand can also be added to soil in order to create potting soil or to loosen clay soil. It is perfect for most garden spaces as it allows garden soil to drain with ease. This is not the case with fine sand. Since sand that has jagged edges will not prevent water from passing through it, sharp sand is often the sand of choice amongst professional gardeners.

Decomposed Granite Gravel
Decomposed Granite is the ultimate for driveways and pathways. Mined in the Texas Hill Country, this material has small, coarse granite chunks and lots of fine material. When installed as a driveway or pathway, the fine material takes a hard set, while the coarser material rises to the surface. It all stays in place, yet quickly drains.
Decomposed granite is a good surface for walkways, driveways or as a well-drained surface in pet kennels. Using decomposed granite provides a natural look to any surface and many people are able to install it themselves.
