Hardwood bark is a byproduct of the debarking process of hardwood trees during their processing into lumber and paper pulp. The bark is then double ground and aged to produce a fine fibrous texture, uniform in size, with a color ranging from medium to deep brown. The bark based product gives a rich texture and color not found in other ground tree type mulches.

The fibrous interlocking nature of Fine Hardwood Bark Mulch makes it an excellent choice for use on all planting areas to conserve water, suppress weeds, moderate soil temperatures, and add valuable nutrients as it decomposes. Fine Shredded Hardwood Bark Mulch Standard Applications:

All trees and shrub areas shall be mulched immediately after planting. Trees and shrubs shall be mulched, as shown, spread mulch in bed area to a depth of three inches (3”), uniformly to cover all planting pits, keeping mulch away from plant stems.
