Cedar Mulch

Living Earth - Mulch - Cedar - Click to view larger imageCedar Mulch is derived from the land clearing of 12” + caliper Mountain Cedar trees that are considered invasive in certain areas of Texas. The root balls are then separated from the tree, and the tree is allowed to dry out so that all greenery is shed. The resulting logs are double ground into a fine distinctive textured mulch, uniform in size, with a light color pallet - ranging from very light tan to light brown with red speckled heartwood intermixed.

The natural oils in the cedar mulch keep it from decomposing quickly, often lasting two to three times longer than other natural mulches while retaining its distinctive light color. The fibrous interlocking nature of Cedar Mulch makes it an excellent choice for use on all planting areas to conserve water, suppress weeds, moderate soil temperatures, and add valuable nutrients as it decomposes. The mulch holds in place and will not wash, making it superior for use on sloped areas.
